Transition Search Committee
Chair: Lloyd Hall
Lloyd is a life-long Episcopalian. Lloyd and his wife, Sue Dale Hall, have been parishioners at St. John’s for 22 years, which their two sons (now grown up) also attended. Lloyd is active in church life at St. John’s, including singing in the adult choir and one of the choir quartets and serving as a Lay Eucharistic Minister, as a member of the Vestry and as Junior and Senior Warden. Lloyd is an admissions officer for Cornell University. |

Susie Backstrom
A life-long Episcopalian, Susie has been a parishioner at St. John’s since she and her husband moved to Ithaca from NYC the summer of 2001. Before moving to Ithaca, Susie practiced law for 23 years in the NYC metropolitan area. At St. John’s, Susie serves on the Altar Guild, as a Lay Eucharistic Minister, as Senior Warden and as a Safe Church training instructor. Susie has served as a Sunday school teacher and as a Vestry member. |

Gwen Freeman
Gwen joined St. John’s during the summer of 2001, and she has served regularly since then as a Lay Eucharist Minister. Gwen also is a member of the St. John's adult choir and sings in one of the choir quartets. Gwen serves the Ithaca community as a teacher at Ithaca High School as the Department Chair for Academic Intervention Services and English as a Second Language. |

Jim Johnson
Jim is a semi- retired carpenter/cabinet maker who is currently making spinning wheels and other fiber related equipment. Jim has been a member of St. John’s since 1989. At St. John's, Jim currently serves as a lector, an adult choir member, a Vestry member and an Education for Ministry mentor. Jim has served in the past as Warden of the Vestry. |

Edward Kokkelenberg
Ed worked for eighteen years in industry. He also worked in non-profit organizations and small colleges. Ed joined the faculty at SUNY, Binghamton where he taught economics and conducted research for thirty-one years, retiring in December 2009. Ed is past President of the Board of Loaves and Fishes of Tompkins County, a Christian ministry hosted by St. John’s which provides a place for free meals, hospitality, companionship, and advocacy for those in need. Ed is a member of the Vestry. |

Pamela Talbott
Pam has been a member of St. John's since 2001. A former Junior and Senior Warden, Pam is currently serving on the Vestry. She also serves as a Lay Eucharistic Minister for St. John’s and as a Safe Church training instructor. Pam is a social worker with The Franziska Racker Centers. Pam is a life-long Episcopalian.

Aaron Wagner
Aaron was introduced to the Episcopal church by his wife, Jasmine. Aron and Jasmine have a young son who is known to occasionally provide comic relief during the otherwise contemplative 8:00 a.m. Sunday service. This is Aaron's first experience on a church committee. In his professional life, Aaron is tenure-track faculty in electrical engineering at Cornell University. |

Discernment Process:
• The Transition Committee will review all candidates
• The Transition Committee will conduct phone interviews with selected candidates
• Some of these will then be visited by members of the Transition Committee
• A list of finalists will be asked to visit St. John’s for interviews with the Vestry and the Transition Committee
• Oxford background checks will be performed on all finalists
• The Vestry is expected to make a call in early spring
